Edit Existing Content from the Front End Content items which are editable have a small icon (pencil and notepad) next to the title of the content item. Click on this icon to edit the item. User permissions vary and not all persons who have a username and password will be able to edit all content items. 'Managers' and 'Administrators' may edit all content. If you are a 'Manager' or 'Administrator' then you may also log into the Admin Panel where you can edit existing and add new content to any part of the site.To Edit Content from the Front End: 1) Visit the content item you want to edit. 2) Select the icon (pencil and notepad) next to the title of the item. 3) Edit content using the Editor Panel when it appears. 4) SAVE (disk icon) or CANCEL (X icon) any changes you have made.
Edit Content from the Back End (Admin Panel) when you want to: 1) edit a content item which is not listed in the Edit Content Menu; 2) edit category and section introductions; 3) edit content navigation (create, change or delete menu links); 4) edit or delete content sections and categories; 5) publish new content items which were created when you were logged into the Front End; 6) carry out any other Admin Task including creating/deleting users, changing site key words (for search engines), changing content item key words, and managing the images displayed in Image Rotator Modules and Image Galleries (see below). TopImage Rotator Modules Read this section if your site contains one or more Image Rotator Modules. How to Change Rotating Images The images contained in these rotating displays can be changed at any time by adding or deleting them from their respective image folder in the Media Manager. You access this be logging into the Admin Panel. The Rotator Modules can be duplicated as many times as you wish. The images displayed can also be resized. All rotator images are contained in a self-titled folder within a specially created 'rotators' folder of the 'stories' folder in the Media Manager (see link in the menu at the top of the Admin Panel). Image Galleries Read this section if your site contains one or more Image Galleries. These are pages which can hold as many images as you like. Each image is presented as a 'thumbnail' which will enlarge when selected by the viewer.
How to Change the Gallery Images The images contained in these gallery displays can be changed at any time by adding or deleting them from their respective image folder in the Media Manager. To create more galleries, simply create more gallery image folders in the Media Manager and link to them using the method set out below.
Location of Gallery Images Folders All gallery images are contained in a self-titled folder within a specially created 'galleries' folder of the 'stories' folder in the Media Manager (see link in the menu at the top of the Admin Panel). How to Link Gallery to Images to be DisplayedOpen the content item to which you want to add a gallery link. If you are linking to a new gallery folder, create the folder in the Media Manager first (see above). Insert the following text into the content item: [gallery]name_of_image_gallery_as_above[/gallery] substituting the name of the gallery you have chosen, and putting { } in place of the [ ] used here. Visit the Wynchcote Client Portal and submit a Support Ticket if you need assistance. Multimedia Content Display Read this section if your site is configured to display video and audio content. You can change multimedia content display settings by accessing the Admin Panel as Administrator and selecting Mambots from the menu at the top of the screen. Visit the Client Portal and submit a Support Ticket if you do not know which mambot is controlling the display of multimedia content. Here you can change the video display window amongst other things, including whether the video is left, centre or right-aligned. The current setting is left aligned. To change from left to right display, change the wording in the Mambot control panel from allvideos-right to allvideos-left. It is not possible to have video displayed on the left in one place and on the right in another. Settings control multimedia display across the whole site. Template - Changing Your Site Logo Banner You can change your site logo at any time by accessing the Admin Panel as Administrator and selecting Site then Media Manager from the menu at the top of the screen. The site logo image is called site_logo (and may be either a .gif or .jpg file) and is held in a folder called template. If you replace it be sure to use the same file type and the same dimensions (pixels). Template - Changing the Banner & Screen Backgrounds You can change these at any time by accessing the Admin Panel as Administrator and selecting Site then Media Manager from the menu at the top of the screen. Banner Background The banner background image is called banner.gif and is held in a folder called template. If you replace it be sure to use the same file type. You will only need to change this if your new site_logo has an opaque background. Screen Background The screen background is called bg.gif and is held in a folder called template. If you replace it be sure to use the same file type. Changing the screen background can add fun to your site - especially at festive times of year. You are advised to only use small repeating patterns e.g. small Xmas trees. Anyone can make such small patterns using Microsoft Paint. You will find it in Accessories if you have Microsoft Windows installed on your PC. Using Tables in Your Website The content editor that we install on your behalf is superb in every respect except the use of tables - unless you are experienced with the use of html.
